On Monday, Porthmadog’s Purple Moose Brewery, the new tenants for ‘the pub on the platform’ The Station Inn have brought the memorable rail side café back to life.

Lawrence Washington, Managing Director of Purple Moose Brewery is excited to see The Station Café return to its former popular glory with railway commuters and local customers alike.

“The Station Café holds a lot of sentiment for the local community, and the overwhelming support we’ve received on social media is a warm sign that the residents of Porthmadog are as excited as us to see classical comforts and refreshments being offered at the café once again.

When the lease came up for the Station Inn last year, knowing how much of a community hub the pub is for Porthmadog, it was an honor to be able to secure the pub’s future for the town, and now the opening of the café after 4 years of being dormant is the latest step in an exciting direction.

We’re very lucky to have a brilliant chef in Claire Roberts who successfully ran Yr Wylan restaurant on the high street for many years, and the best service and warmest of welcomes from Katy Godfrey whom regulars of The Station Inn all know and love.”

Open 9:30am – 6:00pm 7 days a week and located on the Porthmadog platform that services the Pwllheli to Machynlleth line, The Station Café offers a staple of freshly madesandwiches, baguettes, breakfast baps, jacket potatoes and the likes for customers to eat in or grab and go, along with the expected hot and cold refreshments, snacks, cakes and even Purple Moose merchandise.
