A 65-year-old has appeared in court charged with historic indecent assaults of a girl in Machynlleth.

Richard Cutler, of Squires Roost, Cwmllinau, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 21 October.

The 65-year-old is charged with seven counts of indecent assault of a girl aged under 16 in Machynlleth between 19 July 1976 and 20 July 1978.

No pleas were entered at the hearing.

Cutler is next due to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Swansea Crown Court on 20 November.

He was remanded on conditional bail until that date.
