A Llanidloes man has been remanded in custody charged with intentional strangulation and assault.

Jason Edwards, of 12 Gwaelod y Bryn, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on 26 April.

The 41-year-old is charged with the intentional strangulation and assault of Nakita Clayton in Llanidloes on 24 April, and another assault between 18 and 21 April.

Edwards is due to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Swansea Crown Court on 28 May and was remanded in custody until that date.
