BOW Street and Dolgellau Athletic shared the points after a hard-fought 1-1 draw in their Lock Stock Ardal North East clash at Cae Piod on Tuesday evening.
The visitors enjoyed the better of the first half and were rewarded with a deserved breakthrough just after the half-hour mark. Good work from Guto Pugh and player-manager Rob Evans created the opening for Ioan Roberts, who rounded the keeper to put Dolgellau ahead.
Bow Street emerged with greater purpose after the interval and drew level on the hour. Taylor Watts delivered an inviting cross across the face of goal and Steffan Williams was on hand at the back post to convert from close range.
Looking to bounce back from their heavy 6-1 defeat at leaders Queens Park last time out, Dolgellau responded positively and pushed hard for a winner. They created several opportunities but were repeatedly frustrated by resolute defending, goal-line clearances and a couple of excellent saves from home goalkeeper Lewis James.
The Magpies also threatened in the closing stages and came close to snatching all three points themselves, but neither side could find a decisive breakthrough.
Dolgellau manager Rob Evans was encouraged by his side's response after Saturday's disappointment.
"It’s a pity we didn’t win, but we needed a reaction after Saturday and we showed a lot of effort in another difficult place to come in Bow Street," he said.
