LAKE Vyrnwy Half Marathon takes runners on a circular route around the lake, predominantly a fast PB course apart from a slight gradient in the first half mile, writes Liz Pugh.

Husband and wife Stephen and Jane Holmes took to the start line. The last time Jane was at Lake Vyrnwy was in 2015 when they visited to celebrate their anniversary.

At that time she had just completed a gruelling course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy for advanced lung cancer. 11 years later Jane completed the race in 2:24:17, an inspirational lady. Stephen crossed the line in 1:41:20.

Pumpsaint Trail Half Marathon is a scenic, hilly race set in the beautiful Cothi Valley.

The course takes runners on a hilly challenging course with climbs and descents forming an important part of the route.

This year again the race was well supported with Sarn Helen Runners posting great results.

Overall winner was Dylan Lewis in an impressive time of 1:28:00, chasing Dylan all the way was Rhodri Williams who finished in 1:28:37 and was 1st OM, Daniel Jones 1:34:50, Dan Hooper 3rd M50 1:35:18, Wyn Evans 1st M40 1:36:08, Simon Hall 2nd M40 1:38:43, Matt Clarke 3rd M40 1:38:45, Mike Davies 1:42:22, Kevin Jones 1:48:20, Jo Summers 1:49:45, Stephen Holmes 1:51:31, Geth ap Phyllip PB in 1:53:07, Arwyn Davies 1:53:53, George Eadon 1:54:25, Ian Williams 1:58:51, Glyn Price 2:01:48, Alexander Price 2:02:06, Bon Adrian Damalerio 2:03:11, Layla Omar Davies 2nd OF 2:03:22, Alix Arndt 1st F45 2:05:22, Delyth Crimes 2nd F55 2:13:20, Nigel Leeming 2:22:57, Pamela Carter 3rd F45 2:23:04, Nathan de Pablo 2:28:40, Jo Rosiak 2:39:30,Jane Holmes 2:41:00, Liz Pugh 2:41:08, Jane Holmes, Eli Davis 2:43:06, Corrina Robinson 3:33. 10K results will be posted next week.

Stephen Kenworthy and Paul Davies travelled to Swansea to compete in The Swansea 10K, Stephen 45:34, Paul Davies 53:37.

The Copenhagen Half Marathon is part of the Super Six Half Marathons. A fast and flat route where runners pass through the historic inner city as well as taking in Copenhagen’s charming and colourful bridge districts.

Eirlys Evans was taking on her 3rd Super Half and finished in 2:19:39.

The Sandon Century 100Km takes cyclists across Staffordshire’s quiet roads, rolling hills and scenic countryside. Paul Gough took on the challenge and had a great event.
