Rail passengers travelling to and from Aberystwyth are being warned of disruption next week, with late-night services replaced by buses as engineering work affects the Transport for Wales network.
National Rail has confirmed that alterations will affect services between Aberystwyth, Machynlleth and Birmingham International from Monday, 9 November, to Wednesday, 11 November.
Among the affected journeys is the 20.08 departure from Birmingham International to Aberystwyth, which will terminate at Shrewsbury rather than continuing to the coast.
Passengers travelling onwards towards Machynlleth will be able to use alternative Transport for Wales services at no additional cost.
However, the final section of the journey between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth will be completed using a replacement bus.
The 23.39 service from Machynlleth to Aberystwyth will also be cancelled on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, with a bus provided instead.
The changes form part of wider overnight engineering arrangements affecting several routes across the Transport for Wales network between 9 and 13 November.
National Rail says the work includes overnight line closures between Gloucester and Severn Tunnel Junction.
The alterations affecting Aberystwyth concern specific late-evening services, rather than a complete suspension of trains throughout the day.
However, passengers relying on the affected departures are advised to allow additional time for their journeys, particularly where onward connections are required.
Replacement buses may be busier than usual, and passengers should check departure and collection points before travelling.
National Rail advises travellers to use its journey planner to confirm their arrangements, while those requiring accessibility assistance or travelling with bicycles should check the relevant replacement transport guidance.
Passengers are also encouraged to check for further amendments closer to their departure dates, as engineering schedules and journey arrangements can change.
Normal services are expected to operate outside the published alterations, subject to any other disruption.
