A Felinfach man caught driving while using a mobile phone and while uninsured has been fined by magistrates.

Llanelli Magistrates’ Court heard on 23 September that Stephen James, of 1 Bro Henllys, was spotted driving a Ford Fusion on Antaron Avenue, Aberystwyth while using a mobile phone on 16 February this year.

Checks also showed James was driving without insurance.

The 37-year-old admitted both charges and was handed a total fine of £600 and given six penalty points on his driving licence.

He must also pay costs of £130 and an £80 surcharge.
