Aberystwyth band Misha and the Kings have a new single and a new line-up, with two new guitarists ready to rock The White Horse this Halloween.

Their new single, ‘Heartbreaker’, arrives on 30 October, with a release party at The White Horse on 31 October.

The show comes after a busy year that has taken the band from San Marino’s Eurovision selection competition to a packed hometown church and a sold-out album launch.

It also follows Glen Lawrence’s decision to step away from live shows. He remains part of the band’s recording group, plays on ‘Heartbreaker’, and will feature on subsequent singles.

“Throughout the last four years, Glen has been our constant light within the band,” said singer Misha Homayoun-Fekri.

“He's just such a relaxed guy who's full of legendary feel-good quotes who always keeps his cool amongst the chaos.”

His presence on stage will be missed, but the gap will be filled by not one guitar player, but two. Their identities will be revealed at the Halloween release party, where they will join Misha, bassist Rolando Bertrand Ruiz and drummer Ivan Anchant.

The band have plenty to look back on as they prepare for the change.

Earlier this year, their song ‘Hello Hello’ took them to the quarter-finals of Dreaming San Marino, the country’s Eurovision selection competition.

Closer to home, they performed at TEDx Aberystwyth and welcomed more than 200 people to an unplugged concert at Holy Trinity Church in April. June brought the release of ‘Too Hot’, celebrated with a sold-out launch party at Star of the Sea in Borth.

Now, ‘Heartbreaker’ draws on a more personal chapter in Misha’s life: a friendship stretching back years, in which two people fell for each other at different times.

“I broke his heart, he broke my heart,” Misha said. “I wanted to get it off my chest and out there.”
