MACHYNLLETH suffered a third successive MMP Central Wales League North defeat on Saturday, going down 4-0 to Berriew in difficult conditions at Cae Glas.

Despite the persistent rain, the hosts competed well during the first half and were only a goal behind at the break after Rhys Jones struck on the half-hour mark.

However, Berriew took control after the restart. Lewis Hamer doubled the visitors' lead five minutes into the second half before Ryan Edwards added a third as momentum swung firmly their way.

Sixteen-year-old substitute Owen Hamer completed the scoring late on .

Waterloo Rovers recorded the same 4-0 scoreline against Kerry Reserves at Maesydre Recreation Ground.

Matthew Brasnell's first-half brace put the hosts in command before Max McLaughlin extended the lead on the stroke of half-time. McLaughlin added a fourth shortly after the hour mark to take his tally to 12 league goals for the season and maintain his position at the top of the scoring charts.
