FFOSTRASOL maintained their perfect start to the season with a ruthless 10-0 victory over Penrhyncoch Reserves on Saturday, making it five wins from five in the MMP Central Wales League South.
The Parc Troedyrhiw outfit remain two points clear of Lampeter Town at the summit, while still holding a couple of games in hand.
Tudur Davies and Dafydd Phillips put Ffostrasol in control before half-time, but the hosts stepped up another gear after the interval to overwhelm the Roosters.
Davies and Phillips both completed braces, while Iwan Lloyd and Andrii Solyliak each struck twice as the league leaders turned dominance into goals. Bleddyn Jones also found the net, while an own goal from Cennydd Davies completed the rout.
Closest challengers Lampeter Town kept up the pressure with an impressive 4-0 win away at Rhayader.
Jason Jones and Riley Lovell handed the visitors a two-goal lead at the break, but the match remained in the balance until the 75th minute when Rhodri Morgan netted the crucial third goal. Lampeter added further gloss in stoppage time as man-of-the-match Rhys Davies powered home a header at the far post from a corner.
Tregaron Turfs climbed to third place courtesy of a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Aberystwyth Town Development at Park Avenue.
September Player of the Month Sam Jones, recognised for his commanding displays in defence, opened the scoring after 36 minutes. Jones enjoyed an outstanding month, helping his side record two clean sheets while also contributing two goals.
Justin Davies doubled Tregaron’s advantage eight minutes from time after combining well with Ifan Jones, before Matthew Strong pulled one back late on for the Seasiders.
Felinfach also returned to winning ways with a convincing 5-1 success over Penparcau at Min-y-Ddol.
Dan James gave the visitors an early lead before Harley Lawton levelled from the penalty spot on 34 minutes. Cameron Miles restored Felinfach’s advantage on the stroke of half-time and added a second on the hour following good work from James.
Penparcau’s task became even tougher when Luke Sherbon was sent off five minutes later, and Felinfach took full advantage as Miles completed a superb four-goal haul with two late strikes.
