THE 100th running of the International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) this year was held in Portugal where the Dyfed Dirt Bike Club (DDBC) fielded two club teams on the six-day event.
The Lampeter-based DDBC again had Meirion Scourfield as the team manager for both teams along with some support team members. Team A representing the club was Alun Jones, Josh Johnson and Bradley Price while the B team riders were Ryan Jones, Lois Woodrow and Harry Best.
The event proved to be a tough one with extreme dust on the timed special tests forcing many of the top riders from various countries across the world into retirement with mechanical failure.
Meirion Scourfield said he was extremely proud of his six riders from Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, mid and north Wales that help net the A team 10th overall club team from over 90 teams that started the event.
They were also the second best club team from the UK and best Welsh team with only the Scottish team beating them by a very narrow margin to take best UK club team. The B team finished 24th overall after battling through the elements on what was both a challenge for man and machine.
Next year the ISDE will be in Wales when riders from across the world will descend on Builth Wells.
